Achieve independence in your daily activities, such as bathing, dressing, cooking, and driving. OTs evaluate the your physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities and work with you to develop personalized treatment plans that help you improve your functional performance.

Our Occupational Therapy services include a thorough evaluation of each patient’s physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities to identify areas where they may need support. Based on this evaluation, we develop a personalized treatment plan that may include exercises to improve strength and mobility, adaptive equipment recommendations, and activities to improve cognitive and emotional functioning.

We also emphasize education and communication with our patients and their families, providing them with the tools and resources they need to manage their condition effectively. We believe that patient education is essential to help patients and their families understand their condition and be actively involved in their treatment.

Our occupational therapists utilize a range of evidence-based interventions and techniques to help our patients achieve their goals. We continually monitor their progress and make adjustments to their treatment plan as needed to ensure that they are receiving the best possible care.

What exactly does an occupational therapist do?

Occupational therapists (OTs) help people with physical, cognitive, or emotional challenges to perform daily activities. They evaluate abilities, develop personalized treatment plans, implement interventions, monitor progress, and educate patients and caregivers on strategies to manage their condition and improve their ability to function in daily life.

How does what you do with seniors differ from other age groups?

At Synaptic, we understand that seniors have unique needs and challenges that require specialized care. Our approach to working with this population is grounded in a holistic and individualized approach, recognizing that each person’s situation is different. Our team of experienced therapists works closely with seniors and their families to create customized therapy plans that address their specific concerns and goals. We prioritize activities that promote functional independence, improve mobility, and enhance overall quality of life. Our therapists also place a strong emphasis on fall prevention, recognizing the importance of maintaining balance and stability in older adults. Through our comprehensive and compassionate approach to care, we help seniors stay healthy, active, and engaged in their communities.
